How the Indian army selects candidates in recruiting rally? Here we will try to answer this question. 

 We all know that the Indian army is a prestigious job. Every year many young candidates got selected for the army in many ways.  If you want to be a part of the army or thinking about joining the army then you must know the selection procedure. Here we'll understand the selection procedure in the recruiting rally.

In the army recruiting rally, the selection of a candidate will be based on four tests.
These four tests are:

1. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
3. Medical Test
4. Common Entrance Examination (CEE)

Let's understand these tests properly



1. Physical Fitness Test

The first test of selection is the Physical Fitness Test often called PFT. This test is designed to check the physical fitness of candidates. The test consists of four parts which are all done at the rally site. In these four parts, the marks will be given based on the performance of the candidates.

The four parts are:

1. Running 1600 meter

Like any other defenses force the running test is also taken in the Indian Army. It's necessary for all candidates to quality running for further processes. Those candidates who will fail in running will be routed back.

Group I - Up till 5 min 30 sec = 60 marks
• Group II - Up till 5 min 45 sec = 45 marks

2. Beam Test (Pull-Ups)

The candidates who cleared running will face the Beam test. In this test, the candidate has to do Pull-ups. The Marks will be given to candidates on the basis of the numbers of pull-up he has done.

10 Pull-Ups = 40 marks
• 9 Pull-Ups = 33 marks
• 8 Pull-Ups = 27 marks
• 7 Pull-Ups = 21 marks
• 6 Pull-ups = 16 marks


3. 9 Feet Ditch 

In this test, the candidate has to jump over a 9 feet ditch (Pit). This test is qualifying nature hence candidates need to qualify it for further procedures. 


4. Zig-Zag Balance

It this test candidates has to walk on a zig-zag shaped rod by balancing themselves. This Test is also qualifying in nature.

 

2. Physical Measurement Test

Physical Measurement Test is often called PMT. In this test physical measurements have been taken by the department that is Height, Weight, and Chest.

Minimum Physical Standards Required 
• Hight 170cm
• Weight 50kg
• Normal Chest 77cm (+5 on expansion)
(Note::  All Physical Measurements will be taken at the rally site.



3. Medical Test

The purpose of this test is to ensure that the candidate does not suffer from any kind of disease like vision and color blindness, asthma, hydrocele, piles, etc.

The major part of checking 
• Eyes, ears, and nose.
• All body joints 
• Private Parts
• foot surface etc.

Unfit candidates will be referred to as MH/ CH/ BH for specialist review.
 


4. Common Entrance Exam 

The common entrance exam is the last test for selection. Written test through the Common entrance examination will be conducted for medically fit candidates nominated venue. 

The location, Date, and Time of the written test will be intimated at the rally site and through admit cards.
